Assesment Briefing & MEGA CRIT - Feedback Sheet and Reflection

Module Assessment Briefing

Helpful as always however I am pretty disappointed that there are no physical deliverables as part of this module hand in. Fair enough for those who haven't produced any physical work, however I got the impression that any physical work created by those who had - wouldn't be accepted on the day of the deadline. A lot of my responses to the competition briefs have had some sort of physical 3D element to them, as throughout the production process - i needed to create actual mock ups and assemble the artwork to be photographed for the submission. For people that work with a 3D interactive approach, to understand the piece, interact with it and experience it physically is really important and usually an integral part of the way the work is received and perceived by its audience.

I don't expect the tutors to be able to get a real sense of how a 3d piece works spacially, in a specific environment, how it feels or performs a job without being able to see the piece in its entirety and in its physical form as intended - without having the physical work submitted.

I plan on speaking to the module leaders and asking if I can submit my 3D pieces. I have already spent the money, time and hours making them - so why cant they be included in my submission?

Also pretty upset that no sketchbook work is to be accepted either, but I plan on making an ISSUU doc of key pages in my sketchbook and uploading to my blog, so that my development of my visual concepts and process will be clear and help gain a better understanding of my final resolutions.

Mega Crit

Today's Mega Crit was a great chance to see what we have all been up too with regards to our own individual competition briefs as well as our collaborative team work. It has been a bit strange, the feeling of everyone working separately from each other - the year so far has had a very different feel from it. Saying that I know this module has been a huge learning curve for me and a lot of other people on the course.

Feedback received from the session:

Submission notes:

I wasn't expecting to get much feedback after anticipating how many of us there were going to be in the crit and the amount of work we have all been doing, however reading over the sheet-comments were lovely as always.

I learnt a lot from  seeing other peoples approaches to work throughout the session, especially with what to include on my final boards and the amount of work we have to submit. I am a little daunted at this stage (which could just be me feeling a little wobbly after the D&AD submission) but I know with good planning and my millions of lists - I should hopefully be able to prepare, include and submit everything on time.
