KEY NOTE: MAKE MY FINAL COMPOSITION AT OUT LAYERS OF PAPER LIKE WE ARE PROPOSING IN OUR PITCH. - We have no mock up so it would be helpful to just have a small paper engineered mock up of my little polaroid scene/memory, so it can be photographed and included on our boards. Make it like a shadow box for convenience. just include composition and polaroid frame tho...not the whole window and the other displays etc. Just to show how the composition would be made to look like 3d and have multiple layers building up the image.
-Will i need perspex to mock up the decal on the window - because the decal element on the window actually provides one of the layers and completes the full layered 3d composition when viewed from direct on???

  • Key products/notes/ideas to be used in my sketch/mock-up/use this info to create final pitch boards):

Theme: Fashion - Outdoors
(other themes "Home" & "Electrical")

Include:

Father
Daughter
Dog

Location:
Outside
autumn walk

Ideas: Don't want the polaroid scene to look too cold and late autumn - still early autumn and warm/hazy days. Still need a jacket on tho as the leaves are changing colour and need the scene to look distinguishable from a typical summer scene

low sun, beginnings of a sunset in the background?
leaves
change evident in the changing colour of the leaves (not deep red yet but certainly changing from green to yellow at least)
should be windy at least and a few clouds and birds beginning to migrate?

should the scene be a feeding the ducks scene???

Dog needs a jacket from their current range...check online
also needs a good lead

Polaroid picture frame (the square window) needs to have a composition within it at an angle - like the picture has been taken using the selfie approach, at a birds-eye-view / "snapshot moment" angle

clothes:
hat....-too wintry?
scarf?
zipped up jackets and jeans
wellies/mini UGG-boots for girl as a definite

all clothes getting muddy?
dad getting tangled up in the dogs lead/getting pulled along while the girl laughs as the dog tries to jump in the pond/lake/river after the ducks
nice scene with a bridge over the water and flowers/leaves?

Colour scheme - don't forget that I am having the slightly yellow back drop to my polaroid so try and capitalise on this when choosing the polaroid image content and its colour scene

overcast sunny/bright but autumny day - use colours that reflect this

could the scene be a picnic - flat lay- with all of these characters and items in it?

Could the whole composition be that of a photo of a reflection of the daughter the dad and their dog at an angle, all reflected in the surface of the water with a really lovely sultry colour scheme and some leaves floating in the reflection and ripples and around the edges and the sky is sunsetting and the dog could either be shown in the bottom right corner actually in our vision (not reflection) climbing into water - paddling- trying to get to a duck also in our vision but in the top right hand corner

photo taken as if standing directly at the waters edge, looking down with the camera pointed down towards the water.

trees are reflected in the frame also
could make this out of painted/illustrated paper cut

water cant be too ripply because need to see the products

wellies
dog lead
bottom of coats/jackets
dog outfit
camera
hat/scarf in reflection
hand bag down to the side?
dad stood holding an umbrella (within the reflection composition) either an umbrella fully extended or closed and down in the water/ground like a walking stick
backpack
dog toy

if the kid is young (5-8yr) could have a hand made model boat floating on the waters surface as well....from the john lewis toy collection

dad could be holding a kite that is shown in the reflection of the sky
instead of a kite - a model aeroplane? all of these things source from the actual John Lewis toys and kids section! online search!!!

the kid is taking a picture with the camera in one hand and waving at hers and her dad reflection with the other hand. nice composition and adds more interest than with the kid just holding the camera with both hands and looking through the view finder.

production: final composition could have a very faint / not directly noticeable overlay/background of the water bed as we are looking into a reflection. (adobe PS edit) as if the water is really shallow...fish in composition as well? any specific pond/water/river life that has a significant change happen in autumn? could try and include this creature/plant/fungus?
