Key things to take away from the field trip:
- No origami - heavily used in design already and need to try a different approach
- colour schemes: tend to have a palette of all similar colours and shades
- neutral? soft? any patterns/bold colour schemes that really work and would fit the autumn season display?
- Corporate/clean/professional looking
- chosen products need to be chosen carefully so that they fit in their environment and help tell a story/set the scene and ultimately draw the passerby in
Noticed how a lot of the john lewis displays are made from cardboard cut-outs slotted together....could make my own little display using this technique (relevant to brief and Autumn but keep it simple - for mock up and experimenting use only) and upload a photograph of it here. Illustrate both of the cardboard slats a little to add a bit of interest and effort
I like the technique but dont think it should be used in our final composition mock up / visual approach because...
-its not clean / 3 d enough
-the two pieces of cardboard don't build up enough of a 3d "scene" / "memory" / "polaroid image"
-have a better idea for building up the scene using flat-lay 3d models made out of folder card/origami or multiple layers of cut illustrated sections of the polaroid composition - building up the 3d image from front on
