Jacksons Open Art Prize 2016

After developing a taste for competitions and live briefs, I wanted to submit my final lino cut prints (created for the OUIL504 'Authors' brief) to some sort of online competition, but I haven't been unable to find a competition relevant or with the correct specifications for my pieces of work. A lot of work went into the final lino cuts for that module and I wanted to give entering them into a competition a go, especially after receiving such great feedback from my peers and prospective buyers. There have been several print making competition briefs to enter, but because my lino cuts are so large (A2) they have always been the wrong size to enter.....until now.

I often buy my art materials from great stores online and after scrolling through my emails today, I came across a mail-out from 'Jacksons Art Supplies' (https://www.jacksonsart.com/). Reading through the usual discounted deals and "new in" materials, I came across their live competition.

My Submission

After reading through the guidelines I submitted my work straight away, finally finding an open enough competition for my lino cuts to be entered.

The only problem with the competition is that it is only 1 entry per person, which meant I had to choose which out of my 2 lino cuts to submit. I wish they could have both been entered!

My Submission - Details

I am still waiting for a confirmation of entry email from the website/judges, and I have sent an email to the competition website asking if the work has been successfully received. Fingers crossed I get a reply soon.

Email to Jacksons Art Supplies "Competition Info":

In the meantime I also forgot to screen shot my submission page filled in and complete before i clicked "submit" (thinking there would be a confirmation of submission page pop up once I clicked submit), so here is all of the exact info I gave the competition judging panel:

'Despina'

Fingers crossed they like it :)

Confirmation email (upload better doc/pic of it)
