This work by Allison May Kiphuth, inspired by her surroundings in Maine and the New Hampshire coast, captures scenes of nature framed in small wooden boxes, no more than a few inches wide. Another interesting concept for creative design/illustration, working well within the context of object and environment, linking irectly to my intersts as a practitioner regarding 3D moddeling and paper engineering.

Possible Ideas:

  • Dioramas showing the transition/life of various coral species
  • Not only showing life span but also the effects from start to finish of human impact on coral reefs ans specific species
  • Each box/diorama could act as a personal interactive insight into the life of various oceanic species helping the audience to experience first hand the beauty of the ocean and spreading awareness of environmental issues without the need for travel or diving experience
  • Each box could act as a form of documenting true to life forms within nature
