What initially started out as a trip to collect my Lino cut unsold prints from Colours May Vary in Leeds (as a part of the 504 / 502 modules), quickly and unsurprising turned into a much longer snoop around. I honestly don't visit this place enough and I haven't a clue why. Oh wait yes i do - because I would happily spend all my student loan the day I get it on every single item in this shop/gallery and need some way of restraining myself!
The collection of work for sale and on show here speaks to my key interests as a practitioner directly and I couldn't help but take some snaps - all great reference for my 'Object and Environment' chosen area of illustrative context. Object and environment, I am finding, links directly to /goes hand - in - hand with another area of context: 'Product and Packaging in many ways, an area which I also plan on addressing as part of my project. Seeing such high quality yet unique products and examples of illustrative practice within a consumer based environment has been crucial in terms of gaining knowledge of what products / illustration sells well and what successful stores like CMV are looking for in their stock.
