Analysis:
• Artistic Techniques the artist has used: key compositional skills, pleasing / calming palette, the fact the setting/backdrop of the image is a usual, very sought after "attractive" image used for lots of things (desktop backgrounds etc).
• The choice in setting is key because of its idyllic nature in that it causes a stronger contrast and "shattering" impact on realising the foreground elements of the image and the message behind this.
• What exactly is the message in this image and how is it being conveyed?
Pollution of our idillic nature spots, oceans, lakes etc
Harm to nature and species
Human effect of the planet
Pollution of our idillic nature spots, oceans, lakes etc

Human effect of the planet
Why is this important?
• Despite the growing efforts of environmental conservation throughout the last 10 years, the negative impact of humans on nature is still at an all time high. These idillic spots will not be around forever and the destruction of them is speeding up the detrimental impact of important species such as fish -(shown here within the image)
• Popular and familiar/well covered message and environmental image.. Strengthening the message and its impact/ point further and eliminate confusion and questions about its message.

• Audience - aimed at everyone. Obviously aimed at those with an interest and passion about nature and conserving the health of the palent and life - as well as reaching out to those who may not have musch knowledge about the subject, hitting home the destruction that is being done.

Behind the Scenes video of my latest photo "Impact". This is an image I've been working on for the past months. I wanted to create an image where a lake is breaking up as a mirror. I wanted to make the effect look as realistic as possible so I decided to buy 17 square meters of mirrors last summer and brought out the mirrors, a boat and the model to a stone-pit. I thought it could be fun to share the process and to show how much work there is behind creating just one piece.
This is a personal photo project. Shot on a Hasselblad H5D-40, Edited on a Eizo CG318-4k monitor with Adobe Photoshop, filmed with 4k GoPro. Reason for the concept?:
• State of our oceans. Glass/mirror could represent the foreign man made objects, pollution and destruction to our oceans, causing the shatter of the "idillic" scene as we know it.
-Thanks to "man" - hence mans placement?
-Thanks to "man" - hence mans placement?
- Dead fish signify further pollution - no fish are going to be left soon.
Impact in the concept behind the artwork and its application helps to spread awareness of a subject already heavily explored. I feel this image is raw and direct in its message - causing people to almost do a "double take" of what would usually be your standard picture-postcard image. I hope to be able to employ these skills within my own artwork for 505 and my future practice.
